France 2027 is a card-swiper about running for president of France. Every card is a decision: a journalist with an awkward question, a scandal that could be buried or owned. Swipe left, swipe right, there is no third option and no going back. Being elected is one thing, surviving the crisis is another.
Each swipe moves the meters that decide your fate: the polls, the press, the money, etc. Please everyone and you please no one. The campaign is short, the run is quick, and the ending you get is the one you argued yourself into.
Somewhere in testing this stopped behaving like a normal campaign game. People finish a run in five minutes and then keep talking, not about the cards, but about the trade they just made and whether they would make it again. The game never tells you what to think; it only keeps handing you the choice and showing you the cost.
So we have stopped trying to settle what it is. Card-swiper, satire, or a political experience with a deck of cards in front of it, the honest answer is that it depends on who is holding the phone. Sharp, quick, and only slightly cynical about French politics. Built to be played in the five minutes you have, and argued about for rather longer.
